16-06-10 (Read 7/3/26)

Woke up this morning with enough time on my hands, and with the boys' final report cards in the files, to just savor the sweetness of the success and the victory. Thinking of their smiles, of their hugs, of their "I just want to be sure I get my hug," of "What? Just because there's no school today, I don't get a hug?"

The boys are happy, and I am happy about that. We are settled in for our summer routine. We are registered for school next year. We are good to go.

The living room looks much better without the recliner in it, and Brittany is happy to have it. 

Wonderland is in better shape, I think, than ever. Not perfect. Still have the ever-loving APU stock issue, and still have this year's mileage issues, but I have done so much. I have rounded the corner of having to also participate in making Barry's rules stick, and generating revenue. I think that some of my employees have also rounded the corner, and may be giving me a little less of a hard time. That would really be nice. 

I even got the accounts reconciled before I took off, so I'm pretty proud of that.

I wondered about our tentatively planned lunch today when I took my dawn walk. Had a text from Ange at 6:30 this morning, confirming. :-) 

Shawn's girlfriend, Destiny, came over for dinner last night. We had the leftover casserole from the night before, along with squash, and spinach, and rice&beans. Shawn did the dishes after we took her home, and when he was at the sink he turned around and said, "Well, I know what I want for my birthday dinner next year. That casserole was awesome." 

He looked really tired this morning when he came to hug me bye for school, and he said he hadn't slept well. He said that he was fine though, and then, "Thanks for checking on me." 

We have some doable options on the Blue Cross, so I'm happy about that. 

I'm excited about plans for the summer and having fun, and having less pressure to make everything go the way that it needs to. I also kinda think next year will be even easier ... that it will just naturally build on the foundation we already have. 

Barry and I are planning a day trip in the VW Bus to go see the covered bridge in Lilian, and I'm really happy about that.

Heather is taking the Daily Booked Loads report seriously, and I like that. 

I spoke with Donald about the APU's and I was pretty clear --- I'm just getting stronger voiced. I just don't have the time or patience for "pretty please" any more. 

Will Bruce replied about the meeting, so that's good. 

Tyler seemed perfectly happy and content when he told me that they'd come around today to see what electives he wanted next year. He said, "Since I'm actually playing the tuba pretty good..." 

My heart test went well, I think. Dr. Webster said the EKG looked just fine, so that was good. We'll hear more from the cardiologist, I guess. 

I like being over here in the evening, too. 

Barry made some progress on my writing shack today. 

Angela sent me a text.

So did Kennedy. 

Kelly saw the link I put on her Facebook page.

The AC was on.

I knew I had to take time out of this afternoon to have the echo done on my heart, and I'm already behind on my work, so I flipped the day around. I did take time to put my makeup on, but I went straight to the office and promised myself that I'd come to the writing shack this evening, so that's what I did. On the way over here, I dreaded the heat, but was happy to find that I had left the AC on, and the temp was pleasant. 

The tech who did my echo was chatty and pleasant. She spent a summer in Europe with her dad's girlfriend, who was from France and went back each summer to take care of her parents. She talked a lot about that. 

I didn't have to wait long, and I was happy about that. 

The reports that I'm pulling from Prophesy are going to tighten us up as a business and I'm proud of my progress on that. Barry did take a look at the weekly report. 

I don't know if the tech knows anything about the echo, but at least they didn't rush me to the hospital or anything. 

I got almost all of Monday's stuff done on Monday, and would have if I hadn't spent about 3 hours working on the new Prophesy reports. They are uphill because they are uncovering that people have not been dong the work in them they way they are supposed to, but they matter.

Barry facilitated my meeting with Derek.

My meeting with Derek was productive.

Tricia answered my Daily Booked loads inquiry first thing this morning, which indicates cooperation. 

Virginia is steadily training Jashuna, and is willingly releasing things to her.

Tyler, at dinner, sugar: Yes. --- More and more affectionate. 

Lots of getting to see folks expected at Second Sunday Supper, looking forward to that. 

Barry is really sticking to his better eating plan, and is losing weight. I eat better just to keep from throwing him off track.

Barry and I spent about an hour in the garden, and enjoyed it. 

He came up with the idea of the two of us building the writing shack, and I like that idea.  So, I'm back on track with my writing shack. 

Heard from Angela. 

Kennedy and I had a nice text-chat. She said my headache wishes worked. 

I fell asleep without any trouble last night. 

Still making good progress in Wonderland. Started training on Maranda for three different payables tasks yesterday, and she was actually able to pay them, so she'll be able to Blue Cross and First Guard all the way to the finish line. I'm not going to authorize her to play the American Express, but if I needed her to, she could.

Daniel said that when he's 14 he's going to work at the skating rink, because if you work there you can skate for free. Reminded me of Barry mowing the yard to get into the movies for free. 

Made some more progress delegating things in the office yesterday, and Virginia is busy training Jashuna. 

Angela liked the quote I tagged her in, that Beverly put up and put on her page. 

Had a little Voxer chat with Beth yesterday. 

Shawn told us about his Entrepreneurship class, and how he changed the lyrics to "Ghostbusters" for their jingle, and as it was intended to do, it made people laugh. 

A girl in Clay Buddies said my post was inspiring. 

Kennedy and I had a little text chat. She said she's enjoying her yogurt breakfasts. 

It was raining too hard to work in the garden last night.

Beverly stopped in this morning for some juice. 

Barry's blood sugar has been in normal range for the last three days. 

His blood pressure has gotten two green lights for the last two days. 

Shawn and Tyler did well this morning. 

Hung out with Beverly last night and had a good time. 

I made it through the part where I gave Maranda a head's up about all of the things that I will begin teaching her as they come up this month. 

I made it through Virginia's delegation work sheet. She can't really get started on hers until she's gotten Jashuna through her things, but I started at the left of the board. 

I saw shadows on the ground yesterday and looked up to see a flock of white birds, long thin necks. Maybe cranes?

Angela texted me back last night. 

Angela overheard John Robert say, "I wonder how far away you have to move to get out of coming to Second Sunday Supper." She mentioned that to Beverly and said, "I don't know what I'd do if Grannie stopped having Second Sunday Supper. That's the only time I see Uncle John." 

Heard from Brittany yesterday, too. She liked her Easter present.

When Barry mowed the back yard, he left the daisies for me. 

Tyler started a dinner conversation last night --- asking me if I could do one thing differently about the day, what would it be. I don't know if that is because of what he and I talked about on doctor day --- the lack of conversation at the dinner table --- or not, but it was nice not to be the one bearing the responsibility of getting the ball rolling. 

Shawn's math teacher got back with me, and he and Theresa worked on his catch up work last night. 

Did I tell you that Daddy called? I keep remembering it. Always makes me happy to talk to him. 

Mark called to tell me that he is sending me a print of the photo he gave Daddy and Kathi for my anniversary. 

I had fun talking to John about DC, at Goodtimes.

Beverly stopped in this morning for some juice, and Barry and I both got to see her. 

Maranda, re: the vacation request change that she emailed me, "I just want you to know that I knew that was going to be your answer, but they wanted me to ask, so I did." I loved that she had absorbed my reasoning and knew what I would do. 

I got a text from Angela. :-) 

I think I already told you that I got to have a phone visit with Valerie.

Barry and I took a nice walk out to the garden last night. Things were still green, so that was good. 

I booked our hotel rooms for DC. I'm excited about our trip! 

Beth had a good day at work yesterday. 

Evan sent a text saying, "Hey!" 

The weather is good. 

I had a conversation with Derek yesterday about his 5 minute reports and dispatch and what our dispatchers quote, etc. It felt productive. 

I learned more about the Prophesy reports, so we made progress there. 

I didn't eat a brownie. 

My first homemade yogurt turned out with a very nice texture. 

I managed to calm myself down when I went into panic mode eating earlier this morning. 

I helped Tyler with his hair.
